Assistant Principal

Mrs. Aimee Tijerina-Lara

I have been employed with Judson Independent School District and served our Kirby community here at Hopkins for the last seventeen years. I am continuously building on my knowledge and experience with instructional strategies, behavior management, and student success initiatives.  

 I attended Texas State University from 2002 -2006 where I received a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I began teaching in 2006-here at Hopkins Elementary.  I received my Masters Degree with Administrator Certification from Concordia University in 2009.  At Hopkins Elementary I have taught general education for both upper and lower grades.  In 2014 I received my special education certification and have served as the lead special education teacher until Spring 2023. I graduated from the Judson’s Leadership program in 2015.  I obtained my ESL supplemental certification in July of 2020.I am excited to serve in the role of assistant principal, safety officer, behavior coordinator, and campus testing coordinator here at Hopkins.    

I am ready to partner with parents, teachers, and the community to help create a safe and successful learning environment for all students.
